Numbers and graphs always fascinate me so I was excited to stumble across Indeed’s Job Trends page. They have charts documenting information from different categories of the job search, such as postings per capita and industry employment trends. I’d recommend checking out the information they have on that page to see where your city falls in comparison to others on job market competition; for example, my hometown of Portland, Oregon has one job posting for every four unemployed persons, whereas our neighbors to the north in Seattle have a better ratio at 1:2.
